Justin Timberlake Proves That Assholes Still Get Parts

post_timberlake.jpgBig time playa Justin Timberlake is set to appear in yet another movie, reports Variety, joining the cast of a Paramount Pictures film titled The Love Guru, starring the unlikely combination of Mike Meyers and Jessica Alba.

Although the former-teenybopper-heartthrob-turned-“actor” (appearing most recently in the Samuel L. Jackson-Christina Ricci vehicle Black Snake Moan and writer/director Nick Cassavetes’ Alpha Dog) didn’t score a major role in the film, he’s got to be pretty happy with himself nonetheless. After all, he has now managed to officially link his name to the words “love guru.”

And after reading excerpts from an interview published by The Mirror this past June, we all know that Timberlake really does think that he’s single-handedly bringin’ sexy back. As The Mirror reported, the former Britney-Spears-lover dished on his “relationship” with one of “the Jessicas” and gave readers some inside information on his hidden insecurities:

The pop heart-throb called Jessica [Biel]… his “very dear friend” and said she texts him all the time. But when asked who the love of his life is, he replied: “I haven’t met her yet.” Ouch!

Justin said: “She truly insisted that she came with me on tour. I don’t know how to say no to a pretty face. But it wasn’t really a good idea. This time I’m putting the machine before everything else. Jessica met up with me in Manchester, but for Paris I told her categorically no. This tour is very important for me. I’m doing it really seriously so there’s no question of playing sweethearts!”

[…Justin] is not exactly bashful when it comes to assessing his appearance. Asked what he dislikes about his body, he bragged: “Physically nothing. I’m well proportioned and nothing offends me when I look in the mirror.”

He added: “I defy a girl not to fall for me if I’m on a surfboard or snowboarding. It’s my secret weapon if a girl resists me.” And he also reckons he’s irresistible to men saying that “plenty” of male stars hit on him, too.

So, what have we learned? a. Justin Timberlake is an asshole; b. Justin Timberlake will appear in the new Mike Meyers movie, set for release in June 2008; c. Justin Timberlake is an asshole… Need I say more? And with the other hot Hollywood Jessica starring in The Love Guru, who do we think J-Tim will be mackin’ on next? Anyone? Anyone?

  • I was going to call you out for calling JT (my secret man-crush) an asshole, but now I've read those quotes, and the evidence is quite definitive. Asshole, it is.
  • Robert
He does very well in Alpha Dog. Haven't really seen him act otherwise, but he is one of the best parts of Alpha Dog.
  • Jealous?
as i read the quotes i guess you could take them two ways... the way you did, and the way i read them

the first two quotes basically say that he wasnt attracted to jessica beil, and that he thought it was more important to tour (do what he is being paid to do) then start a relationship with someone he obviously didnt want to.

the third he is secure with himself

the fourth.. well maybe a bit over cocky

an asshole is someone who tips 1% on a check in a restaurant, someone who intentionally steals parking spots, who demands things that are totally unreasonable and is otherwise insulting without provocation. i didnt really read anything like that in the article.

maybe he thinks he can bang any chick who wants to bang him while he is surfing or snowboarding... maybe because he knows he can?
  • I agree, he was very good in Alpha Dog; he also got very positive notices for the performance, as he did for his bit part in Black Snake Moan. So, I think putting quotes around the word actor is unnecessary....
