Justice League: Hayden Christensen is Superman?

We haven’t had a real update on the upcoming Justice League Mortal film, which has been in utter turmoil for some time. Prior to the Writer’s Strike, director George Miller and Warner Brothers Pictures had been going back and forth on casting, whether or not to do go motion capture or live action, etc. For all we knew, the production was dead, but it made its triumphant return after the strike had finished.
Earlier this month, we reported that the film was expelled from Australia based on not being able to get a tax break from the Australian government, and was forced to move to Canada to complete principal photography. Today, our friends at Cinema Blend got a great casting scoop from a reader in British Columbia.
“I asked Brody to sign a napkin, and asked what he/they were doing here. They’re in BC to check out locations for their new superhero movie Justice League is Mortal. Brody pointed at Miller and said “George is our director”. He said he’s playing The Flash, Common is playing Green Arrow (or Lantern, one or the other), Armie Hammer (sounded like Arm and Hammer) is Batman, someone from “mad max” is Martian Man-hunter (didn’t catch the name) and Hayden Christensen is Superman. Brody also nodded to the woman to his right and said “she (he said her name but i didnt catch it) is in it too”. Oh, and they had lots of drinks.”
We had already known about Brody, Common and Armie Hammer and their roles in the movie, but Manikan Skywalker as Superman? That is certainly something monumental — monumentally bad, that is. It is no secret that Hayden Christensen is not a good actor, in fact, I believe his lack of ability is well documented. Did George Miller somehow miss Jumper? I have a feeling he did.
I am now considering this project to be officially dead. There is no hope. There is no turning back. Hayden Christensen as Superman is the final straw. Feel free to weigh in with your own opinions below.

They should cancel this now and save themselves the embarrassment. It was never going to be good, now its going to be money pit and a SEVERE embarrassment.

It makes the cast more interesting. This film may be sell able now.

Please no… stop now. I’m sorry, but it sounds like it would be an utter flop. Now, don’t get me wrong… Comic Book themed movies are my fav! Superman, Batman, waiting for IronMan… but honestly, the casting seems all effed up. They would have a much better cast if they just used the casting already put in place by Smallville. If any of you saw it, the episode ‘Justice’ which had the Green Arrow, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg… plus Clark Kent. Was just the most amazing episode ever… and what about Brandon Routh. Why are they using him for the JL movie? I remember being pissed Tom Welling wasn’t Superman, but Routh did awesome… Ugh… I’ll shut up now, but I don’t think I’ll see this movie with all the bad casting about. Sorry. xox

Explain to me who the anchor of this movie is supposed to be. We reported a while back that Superman and Batman might not even be in the film for that long. Doomsday had taken care of the Man of Steel and Batman had quit.
So who is the center, because so far no one can carry this thing. Brody can bring some comedic release. Common can bring some coolness. Girls bring the hotness. And Hayden is supposed to be the calm center of the universe? Please, please find a more serious actor that can carry the weight of the film. Please. Seriously.
Or just give up. That’s a viable option, too.

Hayden is a great actor and he is just beautiful! if he’s in the movie I’ll watch it, but if not
then I won’t. I think he is the best thing that can happen to the movie!

tom welling should be superman!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and also they should hve casted the original cast from smallville!!
this film will be a flop if it goes ahead as planned
