The original Dredd film, while seriously flawed, is a pretty good movie. Get rid of Rob Schneider, the fact that Dredd removed his helmet within the first 20 minutes, and a few other things, the movie could've been... maybe not great, but at least better than it was. The ABC Robot was damn cool, and I thought Armand Assante chewed the scenery nicely. Plus the score kicked some serious ass. Hopefully this new one is more nihilistic, and sans Stallone. If that is the case, i, for one, am looking forward to this remake a lot. Danny Boyle is a hugely talented and intelligent director, in the mold of Chris Nolan, and im sure he could give the proper sci-fi treatment to Judge Dredd.
