Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes

Ladies and gents, feast your eyes on these new photos from the set of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes. Ritchie’s reimagining of the famous detective stories features a stellar cast, comprised of Jude Law as Dr. Watson, Rachel McAdams as American love interest Irene Adler, and Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes himself. Mr. Madonna explained the direction of the film as such:

“We’re going to try to introduce something we haven’t seen before, authentic to the narrative…we’re trying to make this film fresh. We should have some good fight sequences.”

Sounds good to me! After Iron Man, I’ve pretty much agreed to be RDJ’s slave for life. And what could be better than British detectives kicking ass? The answer is nothing. And from the sounds of it, Ritchie is pretty confident that our main men will deliver strong performances:

“My one concern was the accents but this is no longer the case. Robert Downey has the best English accent I’ve ever heard.”

  • So far, there's almost nothing about this movie that sounds bad. Except that Guy Ritchie is directing it. And most of his stuff at this point sucks. Loved SNATCH, but I think even LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS is a bit overrated.

    Oh, can't wait for this!

"Loved SNATCH, but I think even LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS is a bit overrated."

For most people, it's the other way around.

I thought they were both great.

Swept Away doesn't even exist as far as I'm concerned. I've extended him the courtesy of pretending it doesn't exist. Revolver sucks too.
  • I believe Swept Away should have been called "I'm doing a movie for my wife so she'll shut up."
