Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, who can be seen sometimes with his shirt on in The Tudors, will be returning to Paris without John Travolta in order to play a Jewish member of the League of Nations for Belle du Seigneur. The film is the latest attempt at an adaptation of the incredibly lengthy, pretty much autobiographical novel of the same name by Swiss writer Albert Cohen.

Rhys-Meyers will be joined by underwear model Natalia Vodianova – continuing the new fad of hiring living lingerie mannequins as actresses. She’ll play Ariane Deume – a married Swiss woman with whom Rhys-Meyers’s Solal has a torrid and steamy love affair just before the outbreak of WWII. [Deadline Dudley]
