The South American movie geeks at Omelete, partner site of our friends at Collider, have gotten their hands on a new look at Josh Brolin as the supernatural gunslinger Jonah Hex. But that’s not all. They’ve also scored up an official synopsis for the Jimmy Hayward directed actioner, which also stars Michael Fassbender, Michael Shannon, Will Arnett, John Malkovich and Megan Fox.

Have a read of the synopsis below:

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone…and anything. Having survived death, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah’s past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can’t refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah’s oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Based on the legendary graphic novel, “Jonah Hex” is an epic adventure thriller about one man’s personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

There they go again, making offers that people can’t refuse. The story is awfully derivative and seemingly uninspired, but it will all come down to execution. Can Josh Brolin deliver a Hex that is part hero, part demon? Can Megan Fox deliver a character in Leila who has any sort of substance? Will this film be silly, or just plain awesome? More on that when the first trailer hits theaters (which we can only assume will happen soon). For now, we have the following image to look at, courtesy of Omelete.

    Epic Fail

Josh Brolin looks nothing like him and the make up is crap with a capital C.

    That's not Spanish, that's Portuguese.
    Way to be ignorant :(

Yeah, Neil! Brazil is the country of the future and it always has been! Don't you know?

I know that there are certain people on FSR that love Tom Jane to pieces and mention him all the time. I'm not one of them.

    But.

This shit looks like a barely glossier version of what Tom Jane turned in as a make-up test in his attempt to get cast as Hex way, way, way back almost a year ago. The costume is obviously far better, but over all the picture is pretty dull.

In fact, it might just as well be a showcase of the costume.

    Way to go costume design!
