Easily my favorite way to spend money on iTunes is “The Daily Show”, so you can imagine my excitement to learn that Jon Stewart may be returning to the Kodak Theater to host the 80th Academy Awards. The New York Times is reporting that the King of All Fake News is being courted to return to the show after Ellen DeGeneres took the reins last year. And while I can say that Ellen did an okay job hosting the show, Jon Stewart was absolutely fantastic in 2006.

The show is scheduled for February 24 on ABC and will be produced by Gil Cates, who was also the producer when Stewart last hosted. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is expected to make the official announcement on Wednesday.

Mmm.... I think we are better off with Colbert, or George Carlin, or Billy Crystal, or Chris Rock.

But between Stephen and Jon... definitely Stephen.
  • Alana, I would love to see Carlin, but I don't think anyone holding the show would want that to happen. Same think with Colbert, as he badgers his own guests.
