Sensationalism! Of course Jason Voorhees isn’t really dead – well actually, he is dead. But he’s undead. And still killing. And he’ll keep killing on Blu-ray and DVD on June 16th when the 2009 reboot hits your local stores. Also slashing their way into your DVD player are installments IV, V, and VI of the franchise in new Deluxe Edition DVDs on the same date. If you recall, the first three movies already landed a few months back.
Paramount was cool enough to send us over a clip of some of the special features featured on Friday the 13th Part IV, the movie that set out with every intention possible of murdering Jason and putting him deep down in the ground. We all know how well that worked. Take a look at these lovely gents talking about the decision to kill Jason and hear special effects guru Tom Savini talk about one of the discarded methods of making Jason’s head go boom.
The Deluxe Editions of Friday the 13th parts IV, V, and VI all land on June 16th and are packed with special features and retrospectives. Your collection isn’t complete without them, so get on that.
What is your favorite Friday the 13th installment?
