Jason Statham as The Transporter

Our favorite British action hero, Jason Statham, is returning to the silver screen to reprise his role as Frank Martin (aka the coolest reckless driver ever).

The Transporter told the story of an ex-Special Forces agent, who became a mercenary delivering various cargo to the highest bidder. The rules are simple: 1.) Never change the deal, 2.) No names, 3.) Never look in the package. Of course there’s bound to be trouble. Chock full of fighting scenes, intense gunfights, and wicked awesome car chases, Statham soon became the envy of every sixteen year old with a license.

The Transporter and its sequel, written by Luc Besson, both were hugely popular. But can Lionsgate make the third installment as successful?

It was recently announced by Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions, Jason Constantine that Lionsgate has acquired the rights to U.S. and Canadian distribution of the film. The next installment in the series, due out this Thanksgiving, will be directed by Olivier Megaton (who worked on the 2007 flick, Hitman) and produced by EuropaCorp.

Personally, I just want to see Statham kick the crap out of Francois Berleand. In any case, we’re sure to see some cool fighting despite the questionable storyline. Now I guess I just need to brush up on my BMW knowledge between now and November 26th.
