Jackie Chan May Channel Pat Morita In ‘Karate Kid’ Remake

Will Jackie Chan be teaching Jaden Smith how to wax in the upcoming Karate Kid remake? It’s starting to look that way as Chan is reportedly in final negotiations to join the unwanted film.
The film is being revamped as a starring vehicle for Will Smith’s spawn, Jaden, and until this news had absolutely nothing going for it. The addition of Chan means I would probably watch the damn thing, but it’s no guarantee of quality. Chan would obviously play an older Asian man who befriends a young boy in a non-sexual manner after the youth is bullied by bullies. The two go on to paint fences and win both a karate tournament and Elizabeth Shue’s heart.
Karate Kid is scheduled to start filming this summer in Beijing with director Harald Zwart (Long Flat Balls, The Pink Panther 2).
Can Chan save Karate Kid from sucking?
