Iron Man War Machine

Images of a Wal-Mart Exclusive toy called “Iron Man – Stealth Operations” have recently started to appear on a few online outlets. To any fan of the comic, the resemblance to the War Machine armor is very clear. And with the casting of Terrence Howard as Jim Rhodes, perhaps we’ll get a glimpse of the real deal War Machine. In the comic books, Rhodes stepped in as War Machine, an Iron Man replacement, when Stark had to abandon the job for awhile.

War Machine later went on to have several of his own comic appearances and without a doubt looked bad-ass, often equipped to the teeth with more visible weapons than the traditional Iron Man costume.

So while these pics are no guarantee that we will get a War Machine in the new upcoming Iron Man flick, the packaging and the costume design seem to indicate that this release is definitely tied into the new upcoming flick and that the War Machine armor may appear at some time or another.

And for the curious, a picture of War Machine from Avengers: The Initiative #1 (November 2007):

Sound Off: What do you think, is this War Machine?
