Iron Man Goes Into Space for AstroGeek Garrett Reisman
Movie News By Neil Miller on May 28, 2008 | (2) Comments
I am beginning to think that Astronaut Garrett Reisman, who is currently orbiting the Earth in the International Space Station, is the coolest astronaut since that guy who stepped on the ole’ Moon, at least in terms of Geek-cred. You may remember him from a May 8 episode of “The Colbert Report”, on which Reisman appeared via satellite uplink from the Space Station as Stephen Colbert’s special guest. In case you missed it, I have included it below:
Furthermore, Reisman made news again yesterday, as Marvel.com reported that the film Iron Man would be beamed up to the ISS so that Reisman could see it. Apparently, he just couldn’t wait until he got back home to Earth in June. And as far as I know, this is the first time this has ever happened. So could it be that Iron Man has become the first inter-galactic cinematic sensation? As Kevin Kelly would say, “the mind wanders…”
