Iron Man 2: Whiplash Gets His Own Damn Poster
Movie News By Neil Miller on December 10, 2009 | (15) Comments
Sure, the first poster for Iron Man 2 featured the film’s hero and his most badass buddy, War Machine. But these guys aren’t the only one’s bringing the hardware in Jon Favreau’s follow up to his 2008 hit. Paramount Pictures and Apple have unleashed another poster, this time giving us a look at the mad baddy Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke.
Fresh of his Oscar nomination for his comeback performance in The Wrestler, Rourke is taking on the Russian genius Ivan Vanko, who gets out of prison in time to become a very electrifying thorn in the side of our hero, played by Robert Downey Jr. And despite the swirling stew of new characters in this sequel — including rival weapons mogul Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and sexy undercover lady Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) — it would appear as if Rourke’s Whiplash is a dominating force in the film, the big bad that will have to exceed the danger potential of Jeff Bridges’ Obadiah Stane. My money is on Rourke and his whips.
The new poster is below for your inspection. The Iron Man/War Machine poster can be seen here.
