Inglourious Basterds: Second Trailer Tells More, Kills Less
Movie News By Neil Miller on June 22, 2009 | (9) Comments
The buzz we’ve been getting from the latest Quentin Tarantino joint, the WWII set action film Inglourious Basterds is that it is about 40 minutes too long and it’s all talk. This doesn’t surprise any of us, as I believe we all remember what happened with Death Proof: talk talk talk, little bit of action, talk talk talk talk, talk talk talk, big car chase, roll credits. And I don’t think anyone wants to see that happen again, especially with a badass premise as we see in Basterds. So hopefully the early reports from Cannes are either wrong or effective in getting the movie recut.
No matter the outcome, today brings us a new trailer for the film courtesy of the folks over at The Movie Box. It reveals quite a bit more of the film’s actual plot, which involves a rendezvous with a sexy assassin, played by Melanie Laurent, and a plan that has the Basterds taking out some of the big names on the Nazi organizational chart. We also get another look at Mike Myers looking ridiculous as General Ed Fenech. I’m still holding out hope for this movie to be a lot of fun. Time will tell. In the meantime, please click below and check out the trailer.
Inglourious Basterds hits theaters on August 21, 2009.
