It doesn’t matter if you’re this close to graduating, and you’ve finally “found yourself.” Unless you’re going to the University of Baltimore, you have to admit that your school doesn’t have the stones to create a class called “Zombie 101″ where you learn to survive a Zombie Apocalypse. If your brain gets eaten soon, it’ll be their fault.

Because, yes, the University of Baltimore has created just such a class.

The newly-installed course will study film, comics and a full range of topics connected to Zombies and Zombie Survival, although it will probably sneakily make students learn about story telling and the proliferation of technology, too. Or Dickens. Or something.

However, this plus the academic take on Romero’s work and spirituality from a few years ago means that higher education is finally taking the undead seriously, and that makes us all safer. On the other hand, if The Wire it to be believed, any school in Baltimore might want to offer survival of a different kind. [BBC]
