Hugh Jackman Looks Badass as ‘Wolverine’
Movie News By Neil Miller on February 14, 2008 | (4) Comments
For some reason, everyone has been waiting on pins and needles to see a shot of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine i n the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine film. My first thought was “Wait, haven’t we already seen him as Wolvie in 3 other movies?”
Either way, the glitz of a new movie softens the idea that this is something we’ve seen before and movie fans are sure to go ga-ga over Jackman once again reprising the role of Logan, the man who would be Wolverine. The picture above is from USA Today, who hand us the first promotional photo from the film. It goes without saying that this is leaps and bounds better than all the leaked stuff we’ve been seeing come out of New Zealand, where the production has been underway for mere days.
Directed by Gavin Hood (Rendition), this chapter in the Wolverine saga takes us back to his beginning as he is just discovering the world of mutants as well as the vicious Weapon X program, which turns people into living weapons.
USA Today caught up with Jackman, who was very tight-lipped about the plot, although he did promise that the film would not be a one-mutant story:
For fans, the fact that the production is underway and we are starting to see some promotional material is a big win. For a while there, this project seemed to be in a bit of limbo, at least until Gavin Hood was finally brought on to direct. As for the picture, well, that Hugh Jackman always did look badass as Wolverine.
Wolverine is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2009.
