post-hudson.jpgJoining the Sex And The City: The Movie ensemble is Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson. The “American Idol” contestant is set to play Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant in this fan-ticipated flick.

The film brings us back to the Big Apple, where Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha are still living it up; four years after we left them in the final episode that aired in 2004. Are they happy? Will they still be with the same man? Is Samantha’s vagina still intact?

According to Variety, all four original city girls, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Sarah Jessica Parker are on board for the film, which is being directed by ‘Sex’ producer Michael Patrick King.

Jennifer Hudson first caught media attention on “American Idol” in 2004 and then gained superstar status following her acclaimed performance on the movie musical Dreamgirls.

Filming will begin next week and the movie will knock up the silver screen in 2008.
