After seeing Transformers, and already having heard about the slew of properties being purchased for film rights, I started to worry about the days ahead. Most already know about G.I. Joe, Hot Wheels and the live action Alvin and the Chipmunks but I mean seriously, what’s next?
I loved Alf, and who wouldn’t love to see a sci-fi/horror thriller starring that crazy cat eating alien? Can we expect to see a touching family film starring those lovable, colorful Care Bears? Can we expect to see Dyno Riders make a big-screen comeback? Will Michel Gondry give us another stop-animation lucid dreaming film, but this time featuring Gumby and Pokey? Can we expect a CGI battle between the Pound Puppies and the Fluppy Dogs? Who can see characters like Thundercats, Smurfs or Glo Worms Making a comeback?
I think the guys over at Penny Arcade have the right idea. This just might be the next big thing folks!
