Hilary Duff To Reimagine ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ For Big Screen

Yes, you read that right.

To be fair, The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde is not technically a remake of the classic Warren Beatty/Faye Dunaway film, but comparisons are unavoidable. Per Variety, writer/director Tonya Holly’s film is “a new adaptation” of the story behind Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow’s romance, crime spree, and death… so it’s not exactly straying far from the original, but how could it? As you can see from the photo above, this will be Duff’s second time emulating Dunaway’s iconic role. Kevin Zegers (Dawn of the Dead, Zoom) will star as Clyde.

There’s really nothing else to say about this is there?

  • I'm not really a big fan of hers, I could care less what she does. But what does it matter who is cast in this? Does anyone really expect this remake to be any good? I don't care if they require that the women in this film be naked on film, I still won't see this.

    Damn I hate reboots/remakes.
  • Whoa whoa...an all-nude female cast wouldn't get you to check this out? Let's just calm down a second.

But yeah, me neither. It won't make money , and it won't be critically good, so why make it?

i think its time for hillary to cut the good girl image and just let her c#$t swagger like the rest of the young ladies of hollywood.
  • Hahaha. Good one.

    Well said.
  • hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
    what a bloody joke
  • meh. She's pretty hot, but can you take this movie seriously with her in the role? You can't. So they might as well go with it. Make it like, a High School RomCom about a singer girl with a heart of gold who falls for the bad buy, who tricks her into using her singing for evil and stealing money. Then at the end she realizes what she's done is wrong and decides to turn her and her boyfriend in to the Principal. And that is when the FBI machine guns her to death in an ambush.
  • You sir have a future in Hollywood.

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if a movie like that gets made. Nothing in this business surprises me anymore
  • Every young starlet tries to make that jump by doing something "edgy', Anne Hathaway tried it with Havoc. No one wants to see miss goody-2-shoes in such a dramtic role. It's such an iconic performance. Is this her way of trying to restart a fledgeling career?

She does not have what it takes to pull off a Goldie Hawn via Sugarland Express. Goldie knocked the socks off that role. If she does it ,she will be taken seriously as an actress. If not, her career is toast!

Oh God, WHY must people insist on remaking or "newly adapting" (semantics!) films that are already perfect?!! A high school version of bonnie and clyde. Just great.
  • I've always hated that. I wrote a piece for the site I write for about reboots/remakes (re-imagining/newly adapting) You'd be shocked at some of the planned remakes I found out about. Here's the most shocking one:

A remake of Casablanca. Madonna is trying to get it made, and she is going to star in the film (and not in a cameo appearance)

I want to know what happened to originality in Hollywood?
