That’s how our very own Robert Levin describes Vera Farmiga’s directorial debut Higher Ground. Clearly he was one of the many who fell in love with it at Sundance earlier this year.

It looks like everything those featured quotes say it is. I can’t imagine it will be the easiest movie to watch, but it looks like one that will tackle mature themes with the directness they deserve.
