High School Musical 3: Zac’s Back!

It’s okay, folks – you can exhale and uncross your fingers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has closed all deals to reunite the original cast members of your favorite vice and mine, High School Musical, for its third installment.
The gang’s all back: Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and yes, even the freakishly pretty Zac Efron, are returning for High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The once unknown teenagers were shot to stardom with the unprecedented success of “High School Musical” in January of 2006, and it was uncertain whether Disney was going to pony up the extra cash that their little darlings were now demanding. But relax, all is well. The film is slated to premiere on October 24th, this time in theaters.
The threequel finds high school sweethearts Troy (Efron) and Gabriella (Hudgens) dealing with the possibility of separation as they head in different directions for college. I’m willing ot bet this will include a few laughs, a few tears, and more than a few musical numbers.
HSM3 was penned by Richard Barsocchini, writer of the first two telefilms, and director Kenny Ortega is also returning to make the reunion complete. HSM fans are now free to gleefully anticipate all of the puppy love, catchy ditties and saccharine sentiment that the Wildcats have provided in the past.
Because let’s face it – weren’t you a teeny bit worried?
Yeah, me neither.
