A few days ago we posted up some smaller images from the upcoming Tim Burton adventure Alice in Wonderland, as Disney has begun its long-haul marketing push. And as I recall, those images looked pretty neat, even if they were tiny. But today the folks at Disney have sent us the high resolution art so that we might share it with all of you. In the images below, you will see vibrant first looks at Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen and Matt Lucas as the twins, Tweedledee and Tweedledum. As well, there are some cool concept art pieces that show off some of the landscapes that will face young Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska. Have a look for yourself below and click to enlarge.

Alice in Wonderland is scheduled to hit theaters on March 5, 2010.

  • Nice stuff the only thing that's not selling for me is Tweedle Dum/Dee.

Mia Wasikowska as Alice is pretty good.

I cannot stand to look at Depp like that, I don't know why. That photo is terrible imo. Ann Hathaway looks like a guy and it sort of creeps me out. Helena Bohnam Carter as The Red Queen doesn't make any sense.

The concept art is great at least?
  • Amazing

Creepy. Johnny Deep looks like Elijah Wood in drag
  • Dora
Do people even bother to read the books? Do they even know its two books? Do they know the RED QUEEN in not the same as the QUEEN OF HEARTS? That there is actually no darkness at all involved with this story and its Timothy Leary who actually invented the drug thing? Seriously? And Alice as an adult in a story about childhood an growing up? Does anyone even bother on reading up on this? Or do they all just assume because they saw the Disney version and bought a t-shirt in Hot Topic it makes them experts?

this looks like complete and utter crap-tastic film making

I have to agree with Dora on this one, another twisted look by Burton, unfortunately it will not be original or inventive in any regards.
  • Do you guys remember when Burton ruined "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"? Deja Vu.

I don't know what everyone else is talking about, but I'm extremely excited! Tim Burton is a great director and this movie fits his style perfectly. Everything about it is awesome! It may not be a movie to take your kids too ( a little creepy) but everyone who grew up watching it is now old enough that they think this kind of movie is amazing! ( Including me) :) I'm super excited! I will definately be adding this movie to my favorites! :)
