Alright all you young ladies, soccer moms and dudes still hangin’ out in the Twihard closet, lets have it. The new movie in the Twilight franchise, New Moon, has hit theaters today (Nov. 20) and we know that you were out at midnight, crawling out of your sleeping bags to get your tickets and get inside for a first look at the second phase of the Edward/Bella saga. We also know that you were treated to more brooding, more vampires and even some kick-ass wolf fights.

And while my own review is still in progress (trust me, you won’t like it if you’re a Twilight fan or apologist), I would like to know what all of you thought of the latest Stephenie Meyer adaptation.

Just a quick note… Please refrain from the hate speech in the comment section below. We want to know what you thought of the movie, and while we also would like to see some healthy debate, there’s no reason to be impolite. I’m looking at you, regular readers who don’t like Twilight…

  • I just got back from the midnight showing with a smile on my face. I know it's not going to win any awards, but as a fan of the book, it was everything I wanted it to be.
  • Well, no offense to anyone, but I thought it was worse than the first part, which was bad to begin with. It was way too long, thank god edward was hardly there. Bad acting, pretty lame effects. People are speaking of great special effects. I mean who are you kidding, haven't anyone seen better movies with much better effects. Over-exaggerated slow-mo shots that look like they been taken from some random tv show. Zero acting. A story can be told in many different ways and this was the worst. you got to leave more than just your brain outside the theater. I pity all those who would come out of the theater saying this is a great or the best movie they have ever seen in a while cos you know what....Ignorance is Bliss!!

maybe you should reconsider, perhaps your the one that needs to be pitied, considering you dont see the brilliance of this movie, i mean come on! I have never been so pleased with the turnout of a book being turned in to a movie, it was perfect. And seriously, why did you even go to the movie?! If all your going to do is make fun of it, get a life!

    agreed
  • Bad acting and lousy effect, but great costumes and make up. Story line's alright, they stuck to the book as much as they can for a movie i guess..

They stuck to the book. My God, i don't think i've seen an adaptation stick to its source more than this movie has. That being said...Do i think this is going to win any awards (besides MTV popcorn)? No. Do i think this is the best they could have done with what they had to work with? Yes. From a outsider's point of view, i don't see much that would interest them in this movie. If you liked the first movie, or are into the books, you're going to love New Moon. Honestly, i think this was WAY better than Twilight, so much better i have to use CAPS to get that point across. Sure, i cringed durring parts of it, but there was also a lot that i really did like. I've read the books, and as a self pro-claimed Twi-Geek i say this was the best the fans could've asked for. The acting improved so much (Kristen's performence being evidence of that,) and the CGI was acceptable. You can only do so much with horse sized wolves and sparkly vampires, you know? The film is total cheese in my book, but oh, it is good cheese. I'll be going back for a second helping.

They couldn't help making this movie bad when they had to stick to the horrible writings of one Stephine Meyer. I mean in the Urban Dictionary under 'bad writing' is Twilight. Even Stephen King, who is an actual talented writer said "Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people. ... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good."

do u hear yourself? do u not realize the only people who write on that urban dictionary are geeky losers who cannot get girlfriends??? wow. and have u even given the boooks a chance?? i bet u could not write like her. screw u
  • Rodion
And people who read twilight aren't? Here i have a question for you...why, if you were a thousand year old vampire who could stand atop the cathedral in Notre Dame or compete in every extreme sport because you can't die, decide to continually enroll himself in highschool and date a whiny immature clingy girl?
Btw...I can write 100 times better than her...how else could i tell how horribly cliched and unintelligent her writing style is?
  • Jeff
Because it is a story. If you didnt like the books, enough said. You dont need to pick it all apart and act like you cant write better then Stephanie Meyer. If you can truly write better then her, where are your books that are number in the NY Times best sellers list. I would love to read them.
