grownups-header

As is the case with most stock studio comedies — and in this, I would include I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Couples Retreat, among others — it takes more than just big names to make a comedy worth watching. However, I don’t see any indication that this new comedy, Chuck and Larry director Dennis Dugan’s Grown Ups will have any problem getting folks to spend $12 at the box office. They’ve stacked the deck with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Kevin James headlining, four names that have often spelled success. And they (Columbia Pictures) have placed it in the capable hands of Dugan, who has worked with Adam Sandler on about 35 successful comedies.

The only problem is that for some reason, they left all of the funny parts out of the first trailer. Which can be seen below, courtesy of Yahoo Movies.

Grown Ups releases on June 25, 2010.
