For one, why was Segal given a pass on explaining why John Yoo was allowed to subvert a strict constructionist view of the Constitution in favor of a slapdash legal maneuver that allowed the President to torture possibly innocent detainees? Segal should have had his feet put to the fire about the current administration's policy of water boarding, too. Instead, Kevin wants to ask all sorts of stuff about filmmaking that barely matters when compared to the national, existential crises that face us on a daily basis. When we allow comedy directors to talk about movies instead of possible war crimes, the terrorists win, and the joke really is on us.
