Ron Perlman in Hellboy 2

Here is something you don’t see every day — a big, beautiful, badass movie trailer from the grandmaster of monsters himself, Guillermo Del Toro. After seeing this trailer you will probably agree that Hellboy II: The Golden Army should be much higher on your list of big summer movies than expected. But enough talk, lets get a look at this thing.

Now here is where I gush all over this movie like its The Dark Knight or Iron Man. If you liked Pan’s Labyrinth and still hold a spot in your heart for the first Hellboy, you should be stoked for this release. As one of my esteemed FSR colleagues Kevin Kelly said, “they could have just called this one Pan’s Labyrinth meets Hellboy.” The monsters look great, the action looks intense — it all works, plain and simple.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army is directed by Guillermo Del Toro. It stars Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones and Luke Goss. It hits theaters nationwide on July 11th.

Can't wait for this movie!! I liked Blade 2 waay more than the first one, then when Del Toro did Hellboy, I checked it out and was amused. I didn't think it was a great movie, but I liked it enough to buy the DVD and it really grew on me, action, humor, a minor love story. Then, Pan's Labrynth solidified Del Toro, in my mind, as a great film maker. The animated Hellboys are entertaining and this preview has me ready to go the theatre. I'm there opening night.
