A few weeks ago, I wrote some common sense about the Watchmen situation since it seemed like the crazy had reached a fever pitch. Tell comic book fans that their long-awaited film masterpiece might not make it into theaters (even though it will) and you get the 30-year old, male equivalent of telling the world that the next Twilight film won’t see the light of day.

Today we’re getting word from IESB that Warner Bros. and Fox have filed a Notice of Settlement Status and Request for Further Hearing – which is the legal equivalent of kissing and making up but still needing some marriage counseling.

Basically, they’ve resolved a few issues (although it’s unclear which) and have requested a chambers hearing Today, January 15th at 3:30pm (PST) which means I have to stay at work past 5:30pm Austin time in order to keep you current on the situation instead of going to a topless happy hour located convenient to the brand new FSR International Headquarters. I’ll expect Thank You Cards from you are forthcoming.

To check out the short, yet still incredibly dull, filing – CLICK HERE!

  • I knew it would happen... now only me being curious [since as long as I get to see the movie it don't really matter] but I wonder what kind of deal Fox got.?? almost sure it's some form of a percentage of the gross
  • We will likely find out later today and hopefully put this whole Fox/Warner Bros. battle to bed.

Well, there goes the drama... it was fun while it lasted. Now bring on the movie.
  • Cole is too good to us. Let's all send him our money and girl friends to make up for it.
