post-meganfox.jpgIf you have yet to hear about screenwriter Diablo Cody, you will soon. Her debut effort Juno, directed by Jason Reitman, completely stole the show at the Toronto International Film Festival in August and her name is being thrown in with a few very intriguing projects. One is Burlesque, a film that is being touted by our friends at First Showing as “Moulin Rouge mixed with Cabaret“. Her other intriguing project as a scribe is the Fox Atomic property Jennifer’s Body.

As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the story is described to have a similar tone to Heathers, as it follows a cheerleader with a perfect life who become the girl from hell when she gets possessed. When she starts killing boys in her small town, her best friend must find a way to stop her. THR is also reporting even more titillating news, in that Transformers hottie Megan Fox is in negotiations to star.

Now I’m not one who likes to toss around wild predictions, but a movie about a crazy cheerleader played by Megan Fox has some serious moneymaking potential. Fox first came onto the scene with a small role in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, but that was all the way back when Lindsay Lohan was off the pipe.

Fox’s big splash was this summer when she sizzled right next to Shia LaBeouf and some giant robots in Michael Bay’s Transformers. She has rumored to be attached to a Hack/Slash adaptation and also to star alongside Kirsten Dunst and Simon Pegg in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, both on the list for 2008.

As for Jennifer’s Body, Fox Atomic is aiming to get the project in before the impending writer’s strike, which could mean a late 2008 release. I can assure you, we will be reporting more on this as it develops (what else do we have to do but scour the web for accompanying pictures of Megan Fox?)
