Some footage — footage that, oddly enough, was also shown at Comic-Con — from Friday the 13th hit the screen at this evening’s Spike TV Scream Awards, and to be honest, it isn’t really that impressive. Then again, it might be impressive if you have close your eyes and imagine that its like 18 years ago. Otherwise I’m not diggin’ it. Could be the low resolution — though, I seriously doubt it. It says something that I was not intimidated one bit by this footage, as I am generally accused of wearing women’s underwear any time I go near anything remotely scary. That speaks volumes, friends.

Anyhoo, have a look for yourself and feel free to butter our bread with your always entertaining insights in the comment area below.

  • I couldn't tell what the hell was going on for most of that. Maybe being hastily put together explains the bad editing, but I suspect it's just going to be another in a long series of badly edited horror films.
  • Well . . . I'm a huge F13th fan, I own all the movies (even the laughable JasonX) and I wasn't all that impressed here. I hope the film isn't a dumbed down rehash of a franchise. The only thing I found remotely interesting here was the ending of the clip when Jason ran towards the girl, otherwise I'm in disappointment city with this turd.

I'm still trying to figure out what the hell they're doing with the story. If it's a "faithful" remake, the twist ending is out of the question, and why the hell would jason ever be unmasked, and if it's not faithful, why the hell are they calling it a remake?
  • It's not a "remake" its a "reimagining." They're sort of blending parts 1, 2, and 3 together. I thought most of the scene was just ok, nothing special. A bit reminiscent of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. But I liked the last few seconds with Jason running with the machete.

I still have high hopes for this and this video didn't dash them at all. The people involved in this film seemed awesome and like they knew what they were doing. Amanda Righetti is very nice, very hot, and the producers were chill, and Derek Mears is really cool.
