Must See Trailer: Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies
First Look By Rob Hunter on July 17, 2008 | (10) Comments
The first trailer for Ridley Scott’s new action and intrigue movie, Body of Lies, has hit the web. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a journalist turned CIA pawn, and Russell Crowe as his deceptive CIA handler. This is Crowe’s third film in a row with Scott directing, with the fourth, Nottingham, to follow next year. William Monahan (The Departed) wrote the screenplay based on the bestselling novel by David Ignatius.
DiCaprio plays a journalist injured in Iraq before being hired by the CIA to track down an Al Quaeda leader in Jordan. Scott is a master of the sharp and gritty action scene, and Body of Lies looks to have more than a few of them. Visually it looks like a combination of the underrated The Kingdom and Scott’s own classic Black Hawk Down. Everything about the trailer looks solid, from the explosive action, exotic locations, and stellar performances… everything except DiCaprio’s beard/goatee.
What do you think of the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies?
