First Trailer for Rian Johnson’s The Brother’s Bloom Looks Fun

Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz in The Brothers Bloom

I have no idea how I missed it, but over the weekend Summit Entertainment released the first trailer for director Rian Johnson’s The Brothers Bloom. If you remember, Johnson was the director of Brick, a film that I absolutely loved back in 2006. It was a stellar ode to noir and John Hughes, all at the same time. Since then, Johnson has been rounding up the likes of Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz and Mark Ruffalo to star in his new film about con artist brothers who seek to swindle a young heiress out of a few million dollars. And as you will see from the trailer below, it looks like a much lighter film than Brick, but almost equally as interesting.

The Brothers Bloom is scheduled for release on October 24, 2008. It is directed and written by Rian Johnson.

What do you think of the first trailer for The Brothers Bloom?

  • Well, I can do without the Tampax ad... but the movie itself looks like fantastic fun. I loved Brick. I like Weisz and Ruffalo. And a blond Rinko Kikuchi seals it for me.

Oh, and blah blah rich celebrity club OMG!
  • Rob, you fool, that Tampax ad makes the whole trailer.

And you're going to look even more foolish when I delete that spam.
  • Brick was awesome. I'll go to see this just because of Brick.
  • The Comedian
    dude im stoked!
  • Matt
Just read a review of the movie Brothers Bloom, Sounds like its pretty good.
  • Doesn't look bad, however the devil is always in the details, isn't it? I'm going oout on a limb and based on Johnson's previous work, I'd go see it.
At least it isn't a remake of "Lock, Stock, and 3 Smoking Barrels", right?
