First Look: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are Step Brothers
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on January 10, 2008
I have to agree with Devin over at CHUD when he says that this could be the best promo image ever. Sony has released some photos from their 2008 films, including the shot below of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the upcoming comedy Step Brothers. The film is being directed by Anchorman’s Adam McKay. It tells the story of two adult men who become competitive step brothers after their single parents get hitched. It wreaks hilarity. Check out the first image below:

I bet you $50 the poster for this movie belongs in my boiling point article and will look exactly like the last 10 Will Ferrell posters and the “Dewey Cox” poster as well. DAMN IT.

Just wanted to let you know…
It actually should be wreaks, not reek. Reek means to smell, while wreak means to inflict. If the author meant it stinks of hilarity, he would have said reeks of. By using wreak, he is making a play on words. Think of the saying that something “wreaks havoc”.

Am I wrong, but one cannot “wreak” hilarity upon someone…it is an internalized experience based on the perception of the recipient. I believe that poster reeks of hilarity, like it seeps from its pores.
