First Look: Video Clip from ‘The Pineapple Express’

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on December 3, 2007

Yesterday I posted a production still from the David Gordon Green directed Pineapple Express, which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a pothead and his dealer who end up on the run when they witness a cop committing murder. The still, while completely new to me, was a few months old. Well today, our good friends over at JoBlo posted something completely new, a 4 and a half minute scene from the film that shows the dealer (Franco) introducing his new “Pineapple Express” brand of pot to his favorite client (Rogen). The video is below — the film releases August 8, 2008. It was co-written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and uber-produced by Judd Apatow.

Up for Discussion: Is it just me, or is this clip only kind of funny?

Yeah it might be funny if we could see the damn thing!

Jordinho says:

It’ll probably be cut down in the movie. This whole thing will probably be extras on DVD.

Looks like Ken & Daniel get smoked - AGAIN!!
Sorry but this looks sooooooooo lame!! Addicts get wasted & live like pigs.
When will they ever grow up?!? James, we only get to see this snippet but if the rest of the film has you smokin’ cross joints & actin’ THIS raunchy using ‘potty mouth’ lang, you’re only gonna gain very young teenage fans or young adult pot-heads. NOT a good thing, buddy!

You all must be college graduates of the Bozo Clown College… this films humor is obviously geared towards an audience unlike you d-bags that are just a bunch of stuck shrivs, you human paraquats.

There’s something vaguely erotic about how Rogen sucks the weed smoke back in. Too bad he and Franco didn’t have a shotgunning scene.
