First Look: Simon Pegg in “Run, Fat Boy, Run”

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on April 22, 2007

Fresh off of seeing Hot Fuzz twice this weekend, I have really been diving into the upcoming projects of its creators, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright (and bothering publicists for an interview, but that is another story.) Then I came across something uber-cool that is very new, a trailer for Simon Pegg’s next film, Run, Fat Boy, Run.

Run, Fat Boy, Run is the feature directorial debut of David Schwimmer (Ross from Friends) and is written by Michael Ian Black (Reno 911!). It tells the story of a chunky, clueless guy who leaves his fianc©e on their wedding day only to discover — some 10 years later — that she is his one true love. But in order to win back her heart, he looks to finish his first marathon while making her realize her new man is the wrong guy for her.

It has all the potential to be a very funny flick, especially considering Pegg. It is set for a 2008 release. Check out the first trailer below:

Simon Pegg and David Schwimmer were awesome in the dark comedy Big Nothing.
    Pegg plays a midwestern guy.

It's one of the best movies i've seen in quite a while.
  • Great acting, very funny, like it but who is fat?
  • Well, obviously it's Simon Pegg. Looks good, I like Pegg's tshirt. Good tshirts are the beginning of a good movie.

Well it's obviously going to be amazing. I'm a bit staggered that you didn't mention that it stars Dylan Moran and Pegg: together again for the first time since Black Books.
