The character seems interesting, for a comedy. But here's my problem: couldn't they find a black actor to play a white actor in black face? What would be the difference? A black actor. How many fillms, not directed at the black community, include black actors? How many of Ben Stiller's movies have black actors, and I'm not referring to the token black guy/gal in the crowd or the funny sidekick, but leading man/woman? It seems to me that Ben Stiller, and his type of movie mogul, cannot envision black actors even when script calls for someone who looks black. Oh, Hollywood!

My 3 preteen daughter talk so fast I can barely understand them, yet they (and their peers) have no problem understanding each other. Robert Downey Jr.'s performance as a Black man was letter perfect EXCEPT his character was sometimes difficult to understand. Having said that, this seeming performance flaw points to the subtlety and attention to detail Downey commits to in making the role authentic. It's not hard to fathom that a white Australian actor might perceive Black ebonics the same way I perceive my daughters' hyper speech. That's subtle acting. Another observation…Mr. Downey didn't just use ebonics, he used ebonics ACCURATELY. This was no Black-face performance. Mr. Downey either knows Black people intimately or he's a keen observer of human behavior because it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to have been so authentic without serious attention to detail. I was even more amazed when he dropped the character near the end of the film and I'm smacked in the face with the contrast between his Black character and his Aussie character. Don't EVEN get me started on Tom Cruise…hilarious.

Oprah and Bill Cosby are ‘entertainers’ Oprah talks well and Bill makes us laugh, so those
are poor examples hey, you think can name more rich ‘entertainers’, and when Obama
because president that does not mean that the scales are balanced or that the playing field
is some how ‘now’ level, and how do you explain away the death threats that he gets or the
n bombs he gets called? Face it, in America race STILL matters, granted things have gotten a
‘bit’ better, but we are still not out of the woods. Toned down racism is not the same as NO
racism.

Yes, and they have been giving loads of help to help them get back on track too.

Blacks did not get as much help to recover.

But you have not given a clear reason why Blacks are no longer victims or when Blacks stopped being victims.

Just because a rapist STOPS raping his victim, that is NOT the same as ‘closure and restoration’.
