Paramount Pictures released their official summer preview today and aside from a few Star Trek photos that we have already posted and the same shot of Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf running through the desert in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, there wasn’t much that was new or notable. There was, however, a pair of photos from the late-summer comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard starring Jeremy Piven. And aside from the fact that the film sports one of the worst titles I’ve ever seen — it just sounds dumb — I am intrigued by the level of talent associated with the project. Along with Piven, we’ve got some Ed Helms, James Brolin, Alan Thicke, Anchorman’s David Koechner and Step Brothers’ Kathryn Hahn, who is always awesome.

From what I can gather, the Will Ferrell and Adam McKay produced film follows the story of Don Ready (Piven), a used-car liquidator brought in by a struggling businessman (Brolin) to reignite his business during their big 4th of July sale. The film is directed by Half Baked co-writer and longtime Chappelle’s Show Executive Producer Neal Brennan, so there’s a certain part of me that feels as if this thing could be funny. But who knows, I guess we’ll just keep an eye out for further details and a trailer.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is scheduled for an August 14, 2009 release. Check out the new images above and below — click to enlarge.

My boy Alan Thicke in the house! I will have to wait on a traler to judge this one because now a days you can't just go off the cast no matter how good it is or even sometimes the trailer. Just makes me want to see some new "Entourage" even more.

Saw a screening of it last night and it was hilarious. Smart and funny. Over the top, but not in a bad way.. the performances and cameos were done brilliantly... jokes were outrageous. I'd say I'd have to give it an A.
