Just when you think Hollywood is running out of projects that are original and interesting (something that is easy to do in a year filled with sequels and remakes), a project comes along that looks like pure fun. Director Michel Gondry is set to follow up last year’s The Science of Sleep with a film about a video store clerk (Jack Black) who accidentally erases all of the VHS tapes in the store and must remake them on his own with the help of his friend (Mos Def). And while Be Kind Rewind isn’t set for release until next year, we do get a look at the two stars in action:

The tin foil look is interesting and I have no reason to believe that both Black and Mos Def will disappoint. Gondry as well, will make things interesting. I have to say that this is one of those flicks for which I will be holding a countdown…

Be Kind Rewind is set for release on April 4, 2008.
