First Look: Ferrell’s Fro Goes ‘Semi-Pro’

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on August 11, 2007

Let’s face it, Will Ferrell is on a very short list of Hollywood funny men who don’t seem to get less funny with every flick. Blades of Glory, while not Anchorman or Old School, was absolutely hysterical. The guy can even do drama, as he proved in Stranger than Fiction. So what’s a funnyman to do to follow up two sports comedies (Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory) in a row? Another sports comedy, that is.

Below you will find the first look at Ferrell’s upcoming Semi-Pro, a comedy in which he plays a failed basketball player who returns to his hometown to coach a semi-pro team. The film was written by Old School scribe Scot Armstrong, a factor that adds to its potential. It also stars Woody Harrelson, Will Arnett, Rob Corddry, Andre Benjamin, Maura Tierney and of course, Ferrell’s fro.

Semi-Pro dribbles into theaters on February 29, 2008.
