First Look: Dennis Quaid as G.I. Joe’s General Hawk

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on February 14, 2008

This one is pretty self-explainitory. One of our readers sent along the following image of Dennis Quaid as General Hawk, on the set for the first day of shooting for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie. Is there something else I need to say about this, or have you already moved on to the photo?

G.I. Joe is set for release in the summer of 2009.

As long as there are red/blue laser beams ... I will be happy

Is it just me, or does the angle of that photo make it look as though he has a crossword puzzle coming out of his... uh... "area"?

    Dennis "Crossword Penis" Quaid.
  • His uniform is supposed to be green, as well.

Dennis Quaid is such a godamned tool. I hate him in every movie he's in. He's pretty much a retarded/poor man's Harrison Ford.

I have a saying that I bring up from time to time: Any movie that Dennis Quaid is in can always be made better and more entertaining if you replaced him with Randy Quaid.

    You know I'm right.

They should have went with Sam Elliot or Kurt Russell for Hawk.
Dennis Quaid seems to be lowering the star value this movie needs.
I also see that from other pics that the Baroness is a blonde and not European anymore.

Let me guess. They are keeping Combra Commander as a snake person?
    Where is Sgt Slaughter?

The uniform is correct. Dress blues are something that do turn up from time to time. White shirt with blue is Army. Sky blue shirt would be Air Force.

It should be stated that the US Army doing away with the Army Garrison Green uniform as of 2009 and returning to the Blues for all events, ie Garrison, Formal etc etc. If you don't believe me as a GI or go to army.mil.

I wouldn't say he's done all crap what about - The Right Stuff, Enemy Mind, Great Balls of Fire, Dragonhart, Any Given Sunday, Frequency, Traffic, Vantage Point...
