First English Babylon A.D. Trailer Shows Vin Diesel, Reluctant Hero Once Again
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on June 10, 2008

Is it just me, or does Vin Diesel play the “reluctant hero” in just about every single film. Everything from his breakout performance as the hard-nosed street racer thief who just wanted to find inner peace in The Fast and the Furious to the ruthless anti-hero in xXx. Every part this guy takes must have the exact same character arc — it would be annoying, if this new teaser trailer for Babylon AD didn’t look as good as it does. In fact, considering the fact that it is directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, whose work on Gothika wasn’t spectacular, but was at least visually interesting, this film has just gone up a notch to “wait and see” status in my book. That is somewhere in between “I will see it because I have to” and “I am intrigued.” Not bad for a Vin Diesel movie.
You can view the trailer below, courtesy of IGN, and formulate your own opinions in the Sound Off area below. Babylon AD is currently set for an August 29, 2008 release date in the United States.

why are the playing the theme music to requim for a dream, that music im pretty sure was scored specifically for requim by one of aronofskys friends, that is like using the star wars theme for sex in the city or something, man if the director is that unoriginal im sure the movie will suck.

The theme is Lux Aeterna. “Anybody” is right, it’s from Requiem for a Dream. It’s actually
been used in a bunch of movie trailers, and was even redone as “Requiem for a Tower” for
the promotion of the second of the Lord of the Rings movies.

The song is called “Lux Aeterna” and yes, it was scored by Clint Mansell for the film
‘Requiem for a Dream’.

Looks good. I’ve just read tha the director is not happy with 20th century fox altering the movie; apparently it has more action and less story than he wanted.
