Film School Rejects is Nominated for Something
Movie News By Neil Miller on January 6, 2010 | (25) Comments
Mark this day, dear readers, as the day when Film School Rejects begins its quest to become the Susan Lucci of movie blogs. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
The fine chaps at Total Film have seen fit to nominate us for the “Best News Blog” award in their 2010 Blog Awards, a title taken just about every year by our friends at /Film. And while we’re honored just to be mentioned alongside sites like Dark Horizons, Coming Soon and Joblo (three sites we’ve enjoyed for years), we do have some work to do. We don’t really need to win as much as we need to beat a few of the sites on the list. This is why we need your votes.
For instance, we need to beat FirstShowing.net because it will solidify my editorial superiority to blogosphere whipping boy Alex Billington. This is a personal quest and should be irrelevant to our readers, but go with it, will ya? We also need to beat out Spout Blog, as it no longer exists. Losing to them would be like losing an election to a dead guy (we’re looking at your Republican Senator John Ashcroft of Missouri.) We also need to beat out the MTV Movies Blog, as they aren’t so much a movies blog, but rather a hub for all things Twilight. That aggression will not stand.
So if you stand with us, please head over to Total Film and vote for us. Or vote for /Film, whatever. We see how it is.
