I think there definitely are different tastes in comedy. For me, Pegg + Frost is a good thing, Seth Rogan, not so much. Again, another Commonwealth citizen (Australia), so different senses of humour in different parts of the world definitely makes a difference I think.

Pegg Sans Frost is terrible. Glad to see them back together. Can't wait to see what the Alien 'Paul' looks like as well, but I'm tired of Seth Rogan in everything lately. They could have found a much better voice.

Jesus Christ. Yes, sometimes one aspect can ruin films for me. “Slumdog” was ruined because the entire film is nothing but plot contrivances, which is a sign of poor writing. It's very hard for me to appreciate that tripe. The plot contrivances in “Star Trek” ruined the film for me, along with the atrocious plot, the lame villain, and the shitting on the science they could have at least tried to get right (a supernova threatening an entire galaxy, lol!).
