They're going to re-cast for the third movie. Heath gave a great performance, but that doesn't mean someone else couldn't couldn't do a good interpretation. I doubt they'll be retiring him any time soon.

I'm, getting sick and tired of people comparing the Jokers. It's a different time, the Joker in the 60's was made for 60's TV, Jack's take was for the 90's mean but still funny, and Heath's take was just sinister, he didn't write his lines he just played the role. enough of this already, and this crap about Mark Hamill's take on the Joker, all he did was the voice on the cartoon not a role in the movies. THE DARK KNIGHT SUCKED BALLS anyway, Heath was the only reason I watched it. BATMAN IS NOT SINISTER.

Telling Hollywood not to recast a cash cow is like telling a pimp to leave his best whore at home when it comes time to make money. There really is no difference in Hollywood.

I will use Brandon Lee as an example of this, his greatest role and his last was as The Crow. Did they honor his memory and make it the first and last in the series? Hell no, they ran the franchise into the ground and sucked every penny they could out of it.

I agree, I thought M.Keaton was stiff as Batman but good for the time. But Jack being Jack, blew me away. Prince's soundtrack was pivital to Jack's performance. Every bad guy needs his own soundtrack.

If Heath had not passed away, he would have taken the performance through the roof. But Jack eluded to something the role does to the sole. He indicted he almost bought the farm late one night while driving. After getting off his high horse, Jack wanted to reach out to Heath about this, or so he says. The same goes for any role brought from comic book to the big screen.

That's why they call it acting, you want to see who can perform/improve the character from the last actor.

I could see them stepping away for a different storyline in the next one…like the Riddler or Catwoman or Deadshot…kind of like how the villains come and go on TV and in the animated series. But ultimately the fans will want the Joker back…Batman 4, I see someone being cast as the Joker.
