New Extended ‘Metropolis’ Trailer is Gorgeous
Movie News By Scott Beggs on April 26, 2010 | (8) Comments
Words get thrown around these days, what with the internet being awesome and amazing and astounding and gorgeous, but when I talk about this new trailer for Metropolis, I’m using the word “gorgeous” in the classic sense.
Of course, that’s mostly because it’s a truly beautiful film from a master filmmaker.
We’ve written a few times about Metropolis and about Fritz Lang‘s other works for Old Ass Movies, and I’m psyched to see it back on the big screen. I’m unsure how I feel about the extra half hour of footage (but I’m sure Lang would have liked to see all the American cuts returned to his epic film), but I’ve never had a chance to see it as large as it was meant to be seen. This is a fantastic opportunity to film fans everywhere.
Check out some of that gorgeous imagery in glorious techni-blackandwhite:
Not bad for going massively over budget.
