Bring It On: Again?

We Rejects love our readers and our dedicated pool of “spies” who are always sending us little tidbits. We’ve found out great things about The Punisher, early news on Blu-Ray releases, casting info, all sorts of stuff. One of our most trustworthy and consistent spies goes by the name “PatientZero” and he sent us, apologetically, what he described as the lamest scoop ever. Here is an excerpt:

Not sure that this is even worth you guys running, but filming has begun on a little something called Bring It On 5. No idea on the theater vs DVD (I’d assume DVD) or any other information, but there is a film with that exact (working?) title in production.

For confidentiality reasons, we aren’t going to release the source he got it form, but I’m totally convinced it’s happening and equally baffled. Though on the other hand, this release could just be what we need to finally jump start our economy back to health. Forget the bail out, we need to get this thing on Blu-Ray, and fast.

Actually, I’ll admit to not even knowing there was a Bring It On 4. But now that I do know there is a four and a five, I’m popping a tent in my tight male cheerleader pants over this. I think when someone pitches a third direct to DVD sequel of something, instead of just going with it, they should put it to a vote. Like “What is the best entertainment use of $5 million?” Just see what happens. If all you can come up with is Bring It On 5, which is demanded by no one, not even stay at home, masturbate all day cheerleader fans (I know, I count myself among their ranks, errr..) then I guess fine, make it. But maybe you just take a risk on something else, like, who cares, competitive ballet. Or ice hockey. There are other sports. Or just go with something tried and true, like someone in a mask stabbing nude coeds. I digress.

Summation: Bring It On 5, coming soon to a Blockbuster near you.

Are you pumped to Bring It On for a Fifth Time!??
