You may have heard this already, but director Max Mayer’s Sundance hit and soon to be 2009 Fox Searchlight release Adam is one of the most heartfelt films of the year. It stars Hugh Dancy as a man with Asperger’s Syndrome who develops a special relationship with his upstairs neighbor Beth, played by Rose Byrne.
In Neil’s review from Sundance, he said that it was charming, light and smart. As well, he’s said that it also rests steadily on the shoulders of its two leads, both of whom turn in very solid performances.
The film also stars Peter Gallagher, who plays Beth’s father. I say that because we’ve received an exclusive look at a new featurette from Fox Searchlight in which Gallagher picks out his favorite things about the film. Have a look for yourself below.
Adam is in theaters on July 29, 2009.
