Goal II: Living the Dream

It took me a moment after receiving these new pictures, but after I had some time to think, I remembered the highly-acclaimed film Goal!: The Dream Begins, which hit theaters back in 2005. It told the story of a young man from Barrios section of Los Angeles who rose up to become a world famous footballer. And by footballer, I mean the European definition of the word, round balls and all. Since it came to pass on ’05, I have not been able to find a soccer fan who was not really into this flick, which says something, as soccer is the world’s single most popular sport.

On the heels of that film’s success comes Goal II: Living the Dream. Star Kuno Becker is back as Santiago Munez to continue his journey onto the huge stage of world soccer. The film will also star Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) and feature appearances from plenty of famous footballers, including David Beckham and Ronaldinho. We’ve got a special exclusive set of photos from the film, which can be seen below. It will be in theaters in the United States on August 29, 2008.
