Exclusive: First Look at Malice in Wonderland
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 2, 2010 | (2) Comments
The folks at Magnet Releasing have provided us with an exclusive clip from their upcoming US release Malice in Wonderland, starring Lost and Taken star Maggie Grace. The film released a few months back in the UK and is now making its way over here to this side of the pond. It will be in theaters today (April 2) in limited release and will be on DVD May 11, 2010. It follows a girls journey down the darker side of the rabbit hole. I’ve got the entire synopsis, poster and the exclusive clip from the film below. From where I’m sitting, I’m getting a bit of a Guy Ritchie vibe from it. Director Simon Fellows has worked on several direct-to-DVD movies with Jean-Claude Van Damme (7 Seconds, Second in Command, Until Death), but here he’s taking on something a little different. It appears to have some action, but it’s also a riff on the classic Alice story. I will be interested to see how it all comes out.
Synopsis:
An American law student in London. Knocked down by a black cab, she wakes with amnesia in a world that’s a million miles from home – Wonderland. We follow her adventures as she’s dragged through an underworld filled with twisted individuals and the lowest low-lifers, by the enigmatic cab driver, Whitey. She needs to find out who she is, where she’s from and use what wits she has left to get back home in one piece. As her journey progresses she discovers nothing is what it seems, realizes that fate and life are terminally entwined, and finds true love lurking in the unlikeliest place.
