Both in his acting technique and talent and in that he's not an over publicized character actor like Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Johnny Depp etc. LIKE Don Knotts he's made a great supporting character in a great memorable sitcom. (Don Knotts-Barney on the Andy Griffith show is unforgettable as is Alan on Two and a Half Men.) The two are cut from the same cloth so to speak. Another perfect choice and actor cut from the same cloth that would make the remake a laugh outloud till you cry movie would be Dave Chapelle, whom I think Don knotts himself would applaud and laugh till he crys were he alive to see this remake.
