Empire’s New Cover Will Tear Your Damn Head Off
First Look By Neil Miller on November 26, 2008 | (14) Comments
“I’m going to tear your goddamn head off.” That is how the several minute clip ended at Comic-Con, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) making a friendly gesture of war to his arch nemesis Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber). The film is X-Men Origins: Wolverine, from director Gavin Hood, and it is the cover story for Empire Magazine’s upcoming issue. With this cover shot as well as the promise of a trailer being attached to The Day the Earth Stood Still on December 12th, the marketing campaign is now in full swing for the superhero actioner, which drops into theaters on May 1, 2009. Similar to the way Iron Man opened summer ’08, Wolverine could give a major kickstart to the ’09 summer frame with a bevy of superheros guest spots, including Deadpool, who is being played by Ryan Reynolds and Gambit, who will be played by Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch. It should be a pretty exciting film for many fans.

Wolvie is looking pretty badass, eh?
